Upon your arrival,
our guide will pick you up at the airport
and transfer to your hotel. Visit the Stone
Forest: Located 120 kilometers southeast
of Kunming, the Stone Forest is a typical
karst formation covering an area of more than
350 square kilometers. In 2007, it is listed
as World Natural Heritage. Walking inside
the forest, you will find a wonderland consists
of innumerable huge rocks of fantastic shapes.
||Kunming - Shangri-la
Take morning flight to Shangri-la, our guide will meet
you at airport and transfer to hotel in downtown area
then tour to the Songzanlin Lama Temple.
Lama Temple: Also named Guihua Monastery, the temple
is the largest Tibetan Buddhist monastery in Shangri-La
of Yunnan province. It is one of the famous monasteries
in the region, nicknamed as "the little Potala Palace",
for the whole monastery is in the traditional style with

After breakfast, drive 4 hours to a big Tibetan village
- Luoji. After lunch, start the trekking tour with horses.
Today, you will trek about 10 km from Luoji to another
Tibetan village - Hongxing, following the Niru river valley
path. The trekking will take about 5 hours. have dinner
in local villager's house in Hongxing, or camping.

Trek from Hongxing to another Tibetan village - Niru,
following the Niru river valley path. The trekking distance
is 9 km which takes about 4 hours. Have a late lunch in
Niru village upon arrival. Visit the Niru village elementary
school, after dinner, have a bon-fire party with the Tibetan
villagers and the students. Stay in local villager¡¯s
house or camping.
||Niru - Shudu Lake

Trek about 12 km from Niru to Shudu Lake, the trekking
trip takes about 6 hours, have picnic lunch on the way.
Set up Camp by the lake. Enjoy a bon-fire party at night.
Lake: The lake is located 43km to the northeast of
Shangri-La City. Shudu Lake is 3705 meters above sea level
and is one of the biggest lakes in Diqing Prefecture.
Now it has been turned into a highland pasture resort.
The lake is shallow enough to be called interestingly
"a place where one can fish with a wooden stick". The
lake water is so clear that you can see the fish swimming
around. One special fish in the lake is called the cracked-stomach
fish for the crack line strangely running across its stomach. Bordering the lake is one of the best
grazing fields in Zhongdian.

Drive from Shudu Lake to the Natural Bridge Hot Spring
to have a good bath, then drive to Shangri-la to have
lunch, in the afternoon, drive 4 hours to Lijiang, dinner
is arranged by yourselves in Lijiang Ancient Town.
Ancient Town: The old town is famous for its scientific
architectural layout. Crisscrossed by crystal-clear
rivers and meandering cobbled streets, it has a high
research value and is a treasure in the field of urban
construction in China.

Visit the Jade Dragon
Snow Mountain, the Baisha Murals and the Ancient
Shuhe Village of Naxi People.
Dragon Snow Mountain: The mountain is
situated some 15 km. north of Lijiang County,
with thirteen peaks resembling jade pillars
holding the sky, it stands majestically
on the east side of the Jinshajiang River.
The main peak, Mount Fan (Shanzifeng), is
5,596 m. above sea level, and is annually
Baisha Murals: Lijiang's murals are works of the
Ming Dynasty (1368ĘC1644). They were originally distributed among the
Juexiansi Temple and twelve others, nine of which fell
to ruins. The remaining four temples have altogether
55 murals, with a total area of 139.22 sq. m.
people: The Naxi ethnic minority has a population of 277,800, most of whom live in concentrated communities in the Lijiang Naxi Autonomous County in Yunnan Province. More than
1,000 years ago, the Naxi people had already created
pictographic characters called the "Dongba"
script and a syllabic writing known as the "Geba"
script. With these scripts they recorded a lot
of beautiful folklore, legends, poems and religious

Hills: Located at the west bank of the
Lake, Western Hills is set in mountains
well covered by evergreen woods and filled
with sweet songs by lovely birds, perfect
for hiking. Dragon Gate consists of the Sanqing
Temple Complex and the Dragon Gate Grotto
Temple: A Daoist temple constructed in
1602 AD, the main building of which is cast
entirely in bronze weighing about 280 tons.
Monastery: A Buddhist temple which was
first built in the Yuan Dynasty. During its
history, spanning nearly 1,000 years, the
temple has been burnt to ashes several times
and then reconstructed. The present structure
mostly dates from the late Qing Dynasty. Bamboo
Monastery is famous for its 500 colored clay
sculptures of Arhats.
